FAQ

Good questions. Honest answers.

Engagement, independence, confidentiality and references — the questions prospects actually ask.

Service & engagement

What exactly does Heinze Consulting do?

Heinze Consulting is your independent advisory for software and Salesforce contracts. I assess existing and planned agreements, negotiate terms and optimize your license landscape — with the goal of predictable costs and fair conditions that genuinely fit your business.

The key difference: I am 100 % on your side. I do not sell licenses, implementation or add-ons. My job is to get the best possible outcome for you — in a Renewal, a new contract, an RFP or an audit.

From twelve years at Salesforce in Customer Success, I know contracts, pricing logic and renewals from practice: how deals are priced, where the room to move sits and which arguments carry weight. Today I put that experience to work exclusively for you.

How does working together unfold?

Everything starts with a free, no-obligation intro call. We clarify your situation, the timeline and whether — and where — I see the biggest lever for you. If it fits for both sides, we move into delivery.

Next comes a thorough analysis of your contracts, licenses and terms. On that basis we develop a clear strategy and move into negotiation or implementation, up to C-level where needed. I work hands-on: you get concrete results, not fancy slides.

The engagement doesn’t have to end once a deal is closed. On request, I stay involved on an ongoing basis, keep upcoming Renewals in view and keep optimizing your license landscape over time.

What does working together cost?

The intro call is always free and without obligation. So there is no risk in simply finding out whether and how I can help.

I don’t work with a day-rate meter. Depending on the engagement, we agree on either a fixed price for a clearly defined outcome — you know what the work costs before you commit — or a success-based fee tied to the savings actually achieved. Often we combine both: a fixed base for analysis and preparation, and a success component for the negotiation result. Which model fits is something we clarify in the free intro call (30 minutes).

As a rule, the value stands in clear proportion to the effort: a single well-negotiated improvement in terms or a cleaned-up license estate often pays back the fee several times over.

When is the right time to bring you in?

The ideal time is six to nine months before an upcoming renewal. That leaves enough room for a clean analysis, a well-considered strategy and a negotiation without time pressure — and time pressure at renewal is almost always expensive.

But involving me at short notice makes sense too: when a new offer is on the table, an RFP is coming up, or you’re facing a license audit. In situations like these every week counts, and an experienced outside view quickly makes a noticeable difference.

In short: the earlier the better — but it’s rarely too late. Just get in touch and we’ll look together at what’s still possible.

Reach & topics

Do you only advise on Salesforce?

Salesforce is my focus — twelve years inside the company give me a depth that is hard to match from the outside. But it isn’t the limit of my work.

I also advise on other major software contracts, such as ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft. What matters is not the individual vendor but the pattern: complex license models, annual Uplifts, opaque terms and negotiations conducted at eye level with experienced sales teams.

Where my own expertise reaches its limits, I draw on a well-established network of negotiation, procurement and legal experts. Either way, you get the competence your contract demands — coordinated from a single point of contact.

Do you also support international work?

My focus is the DACH region, where I know the market, the contacts and the customs inside out. But my work doesn’t stop at the border.

I support negotiations and contract projects across Europe — including cases where your vendor operates across countries or through an international group structure. With large software contracts in particular, the decisive conversations are rarely purely local anyway.

Working together in German and English is no problem, so international stakeholders on both your side and the vendor’s can be involved smoothly.

Do you only work with large enterprises?

No, large enterprises are not my only audience. I work with organizations from the upper mid-market to the largest corporations — wherever software contracts reach a meaningful scale and professional negotiation pays off.

My approach scales with your situation. Whether it’s a few hundred or several thousand licenses, the principles of solid analysis and negotiation stay the same; the effort adapts to your needs.

If you’re unsure whether an engagement makes sense for you, that’s exactly what we clarify in the free intro call — honestly and with no sales pressure.

Independence & trust

How independent are you really?

My independence is not a marketing claim but the foundation of my work. I am not a Salesforce partner, nor a partner of any other software vendor — I sell neither licenses nor implementation and have no ties to any vendor.

In practical terms: my contract advisory is commissioned and paid by you. There is no vendor in the background whose interests I would have to weigh in. Every analysis and every recommendation serves your advantage alone.

It is precisely this clear alignment of interests that makes my advice valuable: you can rely on me to tell you what is right for you — even when that sometimes means buying less rather than more.

How are you different from a Salesforce partner or reseller?

Salesforce partners and resellers do valuable work — but their business model depends on selling: they earn from licenses, add-ons and implementation projects. The more you buy, the better for them. That is entirely legitimate, but it simply isn’t aligned with your interests.

Heinze Consulting stands solely on your side. I sell nothing and earn nothing from your contract volume. My only goal is to improve your terms and bring your license landscape to what you actually need.

This creates a clear counterweight to the sales side: where others have an interest in a bigger deal, I have an interest in a better deal — for you.

How do you ensure confidentiality?

Confidentiality is the precondition for me to genuinely help you — because my work touches sensitive contracts, prices and internal figures. An NDA is therefore a given for me and is signed on request before any substantive collaboration begins.

I treat all contract, pricing and terms data as strictly confidential and never pass it on to third parties under any circumstances. Your data is of course handled in line with the GDPR.

I stay discreet externally, too: I don’t talk about specific engagements, and your name never appears anywhere without your explicit consent.

References & confidentiality

Can you share client references?

Out of respect for the confidentiality of my engagements, I generally don’t name clients. Anyone working with sensitive contract data should also handle their own client list with care — and you’re entitled to hold me to that standard.

That doesn’t mean you have to decide blind. On request, I’m glad to arrange a personal reference call with an existing client, so you get an honest, unvarnished impression first-hand.

This discretion is itself a reference: the way I speak about others today is the way I’ll speak about you tomorrow.

What experience do you bring?

I have been at home in IT and software consulting for more than 20 years, including twelve years at Salesforce in Customer Success Management. So I know the vendor side not from books but from daily work — including how deals are priced and negotiated.

Across more than 100 projects, I have supported clients in assessing, negotiating and optimizing their contracts. Add to that numerous Salesforce certifications and regular speaker appearances, where I share my knowledge with the community.

This combination — deep product and vendor knowledge on one side, a consistent client perspective on the other — is rare. And it is exactly what I make available exclusively to you.

The best moment? Before the offer is on the table.
